Welcome to the Laurel Mountain Rangers online home!
The
Laurel Mountain Rangers are a group of Campaign oriented Reenactors
dedicated to the authentic portrayal of the Federal and Confederate soldier.
The Laurel Mountain Rangers membership stretches from Virginia up into New
England with the majority of the membership being from Western and Central
Pennsylvania. The unit began as just an idea during the 2000 Remembrance Day
parade, since then we have made an idea a reality, going by the name Calico
Boys. Then in early 2004 the name was changed from the Calico Boys to the
Laurel Mountain Rangers. The Calico Boys first started out as a small mess
of 5 members we soon started to grow and decided to amalgamate other messes
to form an authentic sized company. Now the Laurel Mountain Rangers is
currently made up of 3 mess [The Calico Boys (New York) , Allegheny Rifles
(Pennsylvania) and a currently unnamed mess (West Virginia)] and several
independents. The Laurel Mountain Rangers also make up Company C of the
Liberty Rifles.
